| Straterra w/ SJW...ok? | |||
| |
I have been taking Straterra for about a 1 1/2 years and feel it is the best thing ever in dealing with adult ADD. Due to recent winter blues (SAD), I am considering taking SJW with Strattera. Usually the winter blues don't hit me until mid January, but this year I have been under a particularly high stress. Does anyone have any experience in taking SJW with Straterra? (I'm wondering if it's safe. I've heard warnings about mixing prescrips with herbs.) I have never taken SJW before. Thanks! MY SON IS ON STRATERRA AND I HEARED THAT IT IS CAUSING LIVER DAMAGE IS THIS TRUE?Katie Couric mentioned this on the Today Show (12/21/04) - I was also looking for information.
Katie Couric mentioned this on the Today Show (12/21/04) - I was also looking for information.
I missed the Today show but I just referenced it: Lilly adds warning to Strattera label. Eli Lilly and Co. Friday said it added a warning to the label of its attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder medicine, advising patients with jaundice or a liver injury to stop taking the treatment. So I gather that if one does not already suffer from one of these 2 conditions, it's safe. ... just thought I'd pass this along. Did the FDA actually approve children's use of Straterra? Thanks!I would say if you want to add an anti-depressant to strattera, you should add Zoloft, which has the least interactions of all the SSRI's, and it's good for ADD because it modestly, but potently increases Dopamine. My dr told me that YES..it does cause liver problems, shes glad to take me off this.What is sjw? sorry i really have no clue...and on the mention of strattera it worked for me for the adhd great just not enough of an antidepressant and dont all of the meds we take have major side effects? just a reporter or someone trying to scare the crap outta everyone...and if i remember right it was a low thing and it was mostly with children |
