A quick question from a newbie. I was diagnosed with ADHD last year.
I also have very many symptoms of Sensory integration dysfunction. I know that this often run in line with ADHD but how would I know if I have adhd or sid or both. What additional symptoms would there be with adhd that one would not get with sid??
I thought it might be impulsivity but apparantly that is also present in SID.

I think they go hand in hand. My son was dx'ed with mild SID prior to be dx'ed with ADHD. I don't think there's any way to tell for sure. Except for when it comes to button-down shirts; that is definetely sensory for my son- he screams like he's being burned if the front seams/ thread that attaches the buttons touches his skin. It's easily avoided though.
I would think you could start with an assessment by an OT to identify the sensory areas you have trouble with. You could treat the SID and then see what symptoms don't respond to that.
Are you being treated for the ADHD? On meds? If you take meds, then you could maybe tell what was sensory by what doesn't respond to the meds.
