Bubble wrap popping is great for finger strength (and loads of fun). Ok Trevor does not have any fine motor skills. Are there toys or anything i can do to help this?

Thanks for any help

what do you mean he doesnt have any fine motor skills? Has he been evaluated by an OT? Get therapy? How old is this child?

There are tons of toys good for helping develop fine motor skills. Stringing beads, I have great puzzles that the pieces are different locks and latches and another that is clothing, you zip, button, snap, tie....etc., the game Operation, building blocks, small wooden ones are good, Legos, those pop beads babies play with. Obviously coloring is GREAT. I print printables off the internet so they are pictures of kids favorite thigs to encourage coloring, then, once they are into it, I break all the crayons in half, have to use your fingers with small pieces, dont use those fat crayons and pencils. One of the BEST tools is painting or drawing with markers on an easel........those are just a few ideas................

I know there a lot of possible reasons for a lack of fine and gross motor skills and the above suggestions are all good ones.  However, we have found that a skilled OT really does the trick for our son.  We work on some things at home as well but the OT has identified the root cause of the lack of motor skills (in our case SID that affects is vernacular system) and focuses his OT to help his brain re-learn how to process what it is receiving.  So far so good...

THank you guys for the help I am going to try a few of these. My son was also delayed in his fine motor skills. It depends on how bad it is. He has gotten better over the years and at 9 does well enough to get by. If really bad I would go for an OT Consult, stringing beads, play doh, coloring, sissors, puzzles, mixing things with a wooden spoon, cookie cutters, making paper chains, hammers and nails[older kids] food preparations, decorating cookies with sprinkles, anything to get them to use their hands.
