Need help with Daytrana | ADHD Information

I was told by the pharmacist that the sticky stuff is just glue and not medicine.  It just may not stick as well on those days. I have a question for those out there who have had success w/Daytrana.  It says it lasts 9 hrs but I can't find anywhere what the effects are if it's left on longer than 9 hrs?  We put it on about 7:30 so he's ready for school and by the time I pick him up & we get home to take it off it's about 5:30, so it's on for 10 hrs.  Just wondering if there can be any other effects other than trouble getting to sleep if it comes off after that long.  He doesn't have trouble getting to sleep so I'm thinking it's okay, just can't find any info stating otherwise.  I asked about this at some point but I can't remember how I titled the posting.  The general consensus was that it lasted 10 hours even if you left it on longer.  We put it on my son at 6:30 and he takes it off between 4:30 and 5:00.  He has had no trouble sleeping either.  The only time that gets us in trouble is when he wears it on the weekend and we put it on him later.  On the other hand, if you need coverage for a Sat. evening, then you can put it on later on the day. Thanks for the info, my husband gets panicky when it's 5:45 and he's taking it off, thinking that it's a really strict time frame.  I was pretty sure it was flexible, that's the whole idea!

It lawyas ended up on longer for us. I had to put it on by 5:00 and my duaghter doesnt even get home until 3:00 the earliest. She was fine.

What is the secret to getting the backing off the Daytrana patch? I got one side off easily, but I had a time getting the other side off and some of the sticky (which I'm assuming contains the medicine) peeled off.    

Soemtimes it helps to sort of jiggle the patch before you try to peel it. Also loosen the corners on each side before trying to place on skin.

Some people have put it in the regfrigerator for a couple of minutes first.

I called the 800 number on the packing.  They gave helpful tips as well as a card for 40 free poatches.I put it in the freezer for about 20 seconds and the backing peels off really easy now.
