The doc gave me samples of 150 mg tabs. I could probably cut them in half to 75 mg, but they are small pills. 2-3 days of 75 mg, then up to 150 mg. ?
It has to be ramped, you cannot start at 150mgs right out of the box( side effects BAD side effects). I would cut it in 4ths then work up. Get a pill splitter at Walmart. The pills are 150 mg. Wellbutrin XL. On the website, it says not to cut the pills due to the extended release effects. Have you cut the XL tabs before? Do you up the dose every 2-3 days?we ramped up, dont remember the exact doses now, but she did one dose for four days then went to the dose she was going to take.Make sure it is ramped up from about 40 mgs to the 150mgs over several days. You cannot just start out at full dose.Wellbutrin will take a few weeks, and no you cannot stop cold turkey, you will wean off it if you stop it.
My son's doc suggested that he be taken off of Dexedrine and try Wellbutrin. How long does it take to see a difference with Wellbutrin and if we need to stop it, can it be stopped cold turkey or do we need to wean him off it. He will be taking 150 mg. in the morning.
