Feeling low.... | ADHD Information

I would not switch from Prozac and adderall XR.  It would be prozac plus dexedrine or wellbutrin.  As an adult I don't know if I could get coverage for vyvanse...

my daughter used to get very sad with adderall xr, we took her off of it after about a week, because every little thing would make her cry, and she would be very negative towards herself. (i can't, no one likes me, etc)  We did not have the same reaction with focalin xr, but it did not last long enough for her school day.  she has been on vyvanse for a little over a month, and has not had the weepies.

i completely agree to only change one thing at a time.  if you start adjusting too many things then it gets too hard to tell what is doing what.

I have been taking 15 mgs adderral xr and prozac for about 2 months.  It has curbed my hyperactivity tremendously.  When I take the adderall I'm more social and less defiant, however it lasts about 5 hours, then sadness, tiredness etc sets in to the next dose.  After dinner I don't want to be bothered by family etc.

I need some suggestions/alternatives.

maybe a different med? My daughter also seemd "down" when she took Adderall. Something in the methyphedinate "family" may be better...................What about dexderine?  Heard it might be smoother.  Wellbutrin XL maybe???Vyvance may be an option as well. Only change one thing at a time so that you can better judge how the change is working, and keep making adjustments with the doc until you get the most you can out of your treatment.
