Metadate 10mg | ADHD Information
We are on day #2 of the methedate and I can already tell that the dosage isn't right. We went to the the counselor and he was figeting the entire time and playing with his hands and shirt. How long do we wait to ask the Dr for a higher dose. I know that this will take time....I would give it a week for him to adjust, if nothing by then time to raise it or something. Hello, my son was newly diagnosed with ADHD two weeks ago. We have seen the symptoms for some time but were scared of putting him on medication. But we finally decided something must be done to help him as he was constantly in trouble at school for not paying attention and disrupting others. That being said, he was put on Concerta for a week 18mg and then bumped to 27mg - but he was very emotional, cryng at the drop of a hat and even over a tv program. He is also very moody in the evenings, extremely hard to control. His dr said to discon't concerta and has written a perscription for metadate - 10mg - does anyone have any imput that would be helpful - when are you suppose to see a difference - teacher said he was a little more easy to redirect but sill awful talkative on concerta. Is it suppose to be night and day when we finally get the right meds? Thank you in advance for any insight.
Concerta and Metadate are the same meds with a different delivery system. They are both Methylphenidate, the same med as Ritalin.
Not all kids respond to meds the same way, and some take time to adjust to meds. You will see a difference when you find the right med, not that day maybe but within a few days.
although they are both methylphedinate, as edbson says different delivery syatem and that can make a HUGE difference. My daughter has taken 4 or 5 different methylphedinate meds and reacted differently each time..............the only way to know is try and wait and see. Even if the metadate doesnt do it, dont give up..........................
