I think you just described me! But now I am depressed after realizing all these things about myself THANKS! haha
But yes... sounds to me like you belong here with us ADHD people.
It certainly sounds as though something is up. The memory issues sound like potential ADHD problems.
I'll answer two questions in one. Music memory is its own separate area of the brain. It's not the same spot where you store language information, or other sound-based memories. Stroke victims who've had their verbal language area damage to the point where they cannot communicate through speech often have perfect abilities to recite songs they can remember. Since you noted general memory deficits in sound, visual information, and music then it points to a global deficit in working memory, which can be a downstream product of attentional regulation deficits. A global working memory deficit is a hallmark sign of ADHD, according to most psychologists and neurologists. Unfortunately, anxiety and depression both cause global impairments in attentional regulation and working memory. So it's not always easy to disentangle things. It's possible that you're having these problems due to anxiety (it really can't be underestimated to what extent anxiety in particular can cause these symptoms), but it's also quite possible that you're suffering the horrific nexus of ADHD and anxiety (been there, done that, not pretty). Only a qualified neurologist or psychologists who deals in these issues can tell you for certain.
My advice is to find a psychiatrist who specializing in LDs and Attentional Regulation Deficits and to get a full assessment to figure it out.
I'm a horrible procrastinator.
Also, does anyone else with add/adhd have problems remebering lyrics to songs, or singing along with a song on the radio that you have heard countless times?
matt33339435.6351041667If you are a really bad procrastinator as well as all of the other things you listed, then I'd say you are a pretty classic case. You need treatment
