Anyone else had success with Strattera | ADHD Information

I have been on 25 mg of Strattera (with 20 mg of Prozac) daily for 6
weeks and have seen a vast improvement. I'm a 36 yo married mom of a 2
year old. Was finally diagnosed as ADD 2 months ago.

Even though it takes 4-6 weeks to reach full effectiveness, I swear I felt a
difference after one week. I'm less volatile, things that used to make me
see red don't faze me as much anymore. I don't feel completely
overwhelmed, frustrated and helpless anymore. I just plug along with
work and family life like other people seem to do without being too
emotionally affected.

I know that people usually feel compelled to share bad experiences. So,
I'm wondering if anyone out there has had a positive experience with
Strattera too.

Thanks

PS - I should add that I have had some side effects that are gradually
going away- constipation, dry mouth and problems staying asleep, and
some loss of appetite. But, nothing bad enough to stop.phillymom39446.3901967593

my daughter started Strattera 11/16. We saw improvement the first week also, and quick improvement with each dose increase, then it would level off. She's now been at target dose for 4 weeks, and we are having very good success with it. You dont see that DRAMATIC focus and behavior change you see with stimulants. This is MUCH more subtle. For us, it has been a godsend..... so far anyway. We've used about 8 different stimulants, a couple of them more than once, this is the only med she has had no side effects, she just seems like herself, but able to be on task. She is still immature, still has ADHD, BUT is able to be redirected and get by, able to be on task with the right help at school, and is eating and sleeping well, not up and down and anxious and nervous like on stimulants. We are VERY, VERY happy with Strattera . We are praying we dont see it stop working like NoTellin did. My fingers are crossed every day!

I am with you on this one! Thanks for sharing. Strattera tends to get a bad rap.

Yes, DD was on Strat for over 2 years with great results. 25 is not an adult dose, so it may stop working or have negative side effects. Yes, for two months and then it stopped working. Thanks for your replies! I was supposed to go up to 50 mg right before
christmas and put it off until next week in case I didn't react well. I am also
taking prozac which I've read intensifies the effect of strattera, so maybe
that's why he started me on a low dose.

My reaction was pretty subtle too but definitely noticeable. I just feel good,
period, and it's about time.

best wishes

I am on Strattera-100mgs.  I am very pleased with the results.  I too suffered with the same side effects also some shortness of breath, but I have only been at my target dose for two weeks.  I'm hoping these will diminish over time.  I took Strattera once before but decided to try Vyvanse with negative results and decided to return to Strattera.  When I started it again I also introduced Omega supplements to my daily routine.  I think this has improved the effects of the Strattera.  Today I began dividing my dosage AM and PM to see if it would help relieve the lethargy I felt in the afternoons - I do feel somewhat better today so we'll see how it goes.
