5 lbs weight gain!! | ADHD Information

I am just happy to report that with  1 1/2 weeks off meds over the Xmas break, my son gained 5 lbs.  He was 78 lbs over the summer and had decreased to 69 after several months on Adderall. That was the only side effect. We are now trying Daytrana and the dose is really low. So low that I bet it's not helping in school but also so low that he eats with it. We will have to increase it soon but at least he will have some more meat on his bones. (not alot but some)  Happy New Year to all!  my son was 6 when we first HAD to start him on meds. Before we did it was a non-stop battle of "I am hungry" he was like a little bird with his mouth constantly open. Now in the 2 years he has been on meds he has gained a total of 11 pounds. The Dr says that he is fine and still well in the normal growth chart for his age, but we also get really excited when we go for our monthly visits and he has gained a pound or two. What medication are you using?

my son (8 in 3rd grade been on meds since Kindergarden is on:
Concerta 72mg
straterra 40mg he takes both in the morning
and
clonodine .5mg he takes 1 1/2 about an hour before bed time.
