We're switching my son's 20mg dose of metadate to 10mg...he's been off the meds over break.. He's been great....no mood swings, cooperative (for the most part)..not angry, etc. He went to school yesterday w/no meds in his system (couldn't get the prescription filled in time). I was also secretly hoping that he didn't need his meds for school anymore. Boy was I wrong. He was all over the place--but happy nonetheless.
Why change? His teachers say he's been "zoning out/irritable"....called the doctor..'and the doctor said'....you guessed it. Today is the day--10mg.
hopefully we're doing the right thing....it can't be any worse than him not being on the meds.....homeschooling has crossed my mind
