Hi everyone, I am not sure if you will remember me or not, as it has been a while since I have been here. I guess that is good news, as it means we have not had a lot of major issues or traumas in our son's life.
M is 6 now, diagnosed with ADHD at age 4 1/2. He has been on Metadate CD 40 mg with an afternoon ritalyn booster for over a year now and it has been working well for him. It is starting to wear off a little early for him, so we are going to be experimenting with some different afternoon options, which has me a little nervous.
But, he has been having mostly "green days" at school, which is good. Just struggling a bit more after lunch to stave off the impulsiveness.
We are very lucky in that his teacher (who I had his 4K teacher recommend for us) is wonderful, and she obviously adores him. But, she is firm, which he needs.
I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and to let those of you who are new to the process know that it is possible to find a happy, productive place for your child. When I look at where we were 1 1/2 years ago, I am amazed at how far we have come. We still have our days and times where we struggle, but it is not a constant struggle.
