hi, i have an 8 yer old boy with adhd. we have tried other medication but it didnt work out. We are now thinking of trying this new drug, as he needs help with his school work. And they tell me this will help him concentrate, without the sideaffects of ritalin and other drugs. Is there any boby in the same situation?

Are you asking about trying Strattera?
If so, our story is that my daughter has tried about 10 different meds and med combos. She got side effects form everything. In November we decided to start Strattera and would add a small dose of stimulant once she was ramped to target dose. We saw an immediate improvement from no meds to even her starting Strattera dose. We've since ramped to our target dose of 54mg and she is doing well enough that we did not add back the stimulant. She is having no side effects from this medication at all. Her appetite and sleep are normal. She is able to be brought back on task (with minimal prompting). We are still working on LOTS of things, but she is doing fine.....for now........
keep in mind all meds are different for all people. Meds that casue side effects in some kids dont casue them in others. There is no way to know ahead how you will react.
DD did extremely well on Strat, but make sure if it prescribed that it is dosed Properly. It MUST be ramped fromn 10 mgs, and it must be at target dose for 4-6 weeks to work. Patience is key. Target dose is 1.2-1.8 mgs per kilo of body weight, no exceptions.
