Hi,
My almost 11 year old son is on 25mg of zoloft for anxiety and 40mg of Ritalin LA (both in the am). He has never complained of nightmares. I am still not sure if the zoloft is working.
my 6.5yo dd is on vyvanse 40mg (we pour some out) and 25 mg of zoloft for ocd. she takes the vyvanse in the am and the zoloft in the pm. she has been on the zoloft for about a month. she has recently be talking about having very very bad dreams, monsters and zombies etc. i am wondering if anyone else has had the same side effect. also if you have what did you do about it? i am considering either taking her back down to 12.5 mg or trying to give it to her in the morning. any suggestions or feedback i would appreciate.
thanks for your response. i have started giving her them both in the am and that seems to have solved the issue. how does you son handle both meds at the same time. does it upset his stomach?you know, I take Amitryptiline for migraines, it is a tricyclic antidepressant and it also has cause me to have an increase in dreams, or increas in remembered dreams. Also not nightmares, just more vivid. Thats interesting. I also take a tiny dose half of the smallest dose they make as it's not for depression, but preventative for migraines and to help with mild insomnia. I wonder if it's common with antidepressants.I was on zoloft recently for about two months. I stopped taking it several weeks ago and while I would not say that I have had night mares exactly I did notice a really big increase in the amount of dream activity I've been having, both while taking the med and now that I am off it. One of the reasons it was given to me is because I was not sleeping great due to anxiety issues possibly. Maybe the change in my acutal sleep rythms is what has caused the increase in dreams, or increase in remembered dreams, not sure. To me these dreams have not been overly frightening but VERY vivid.
