Wow, it's been a long time since posting on this site, but I'm in a bit of a predicament. I've been taking adderall ir 20 mg 3x a day for a little over a year. My doctor just recently changed my anti-depressant to Symbyax, which is an atypical antipsychotic sometimes, but not always used to treat the depressive state of bi-polar. Since I started taking the Symbyax my moods have stabilized and I am much calmer.....however, the adderall is just not doing what it did before. I sort of feel "mentally lazy", not as sharp as before the Symbyax. Not to mention, I've gained 20 pounds since taking the Symbyax.
So, my question is, should I talk to my Doctor about increasing my dosage? I may need a higher dosage b/c I've gained weight OR b/c of the Symbyax. Please HELP!!!! Don't know what to do!
I'm going to say that the Symbax isn't nesecarilly what's affecting your feeling lazy. Sometimes ADHD meds make you feel really tired; they help, but sometimes they help too much. I'd definitely talk to your doctor on how you're feeling with the meds, anyway.
