confirming diagnosis - in process | ADHD Information

I posted earlier this month about how to go about a proper diagnosis. Thanks for all the replies and a special thanks to edbson for mentioning the blood test, ekg and eeg.

We have the blood test results and some things are abnormal. I take him to the pediatrician tomorrow to find out about that. His psychiatrist said that if his blood levels are off, it could affect how the medicine is working in his system. Justin is extremely sensitive to medicine.

Also, when they did the EEG, I saw spikes on the technician's computer screen when his body was still. The technician is not allowed to tell the parent if she sees seizures. But Justin used to do a lot of staring into space/zoning out - and the psychaitrist said that this staring could actually be a partial complex or petit mal or what is now called an absence seizure. And he said that stimulants suppress seizure activity. Live and learn. Anyway, it won't surprise me if Justin is having some seizures. And it will make sense as to some of his behaviors.

For now, the psychiatrist thinks Justin has mild Asperger's, but until he gets the test results back, he is not positive. What shocked me is that he thinks Justin may have ADD, but not ADHD.

Does anyone else on the board have an Asperger's-combination ADD or ADHD-child or an ADD/ADHD child who has seizures?

I feel we are medically on the right track and will post again when we get those other reports.

Thanks in advance for any replies!
