My son is 8, add inattentive, on 54 mg of concerta and .5mg tenex at bedtime only. His appettite in the early am and pm is ferocious but non existant during the day. His dad (we are divorced) does not feel the meds are needed and wants to stop them at least on weekends and other school breaks. I am on the fence. Our Ped is against med breaks. I know concerta is supposed to be out of the body after 10-12 hrs but I am scared of not "weening" him off. Can we just stop cold turkey every weekend? Will he get a big "jolt" on Monday morning?
