Allergy testing? & Chiropracters | ADHD Information
Sometimes allergies cause problems that mimic adhd symptoms. A friend of
mine's daughter is an example. Once she got the allergies under control,
the symptoms disappeared. However, true adhd is a brain disorder.
Talk with a neuro psychiatrist or developmental pediatrician for an
evaluation of adhd if you are concerned. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to get
your ds tested for allergies, either. My friend took her dd to an allergist for
her testing. She is allergic to grass and other environmental factors and
some foods.
Good luck!Hi everyone,
My brother-in-law is a chiropracter. When I told him that we were in the process of having ds tested for adhd he mentioned that I should have him brought in for a very detailed allergy test. He mentioned that this is a special test (not a skin graph test performed by most physicians - he said that one would pick up only20% of food allergies). I guess in his training he feels that adhd is the body's response to other problems such as allergies etc. Any of you been down this route? Since brother-in-law is out of state, I don't have the option to take ds to him. I may explore another chiro in my area but looking for feedback from those of you who may have "been-there, done-that".
Thanks once again for all your help! I'm just trying to arm myself with as much info I can during this evaluation process.
