meds and puberty | ADHD Information

I can't help you here.  My kid has grown 9 1/2 inches in the last year but has not had to adjust hs meds at all. Hi, My daughter is 12 and starting to go through puberty.  She's on Concerta and occasionally the mini-dose of Ritalin if needed in afternoon for homework.   She seems to be a lot more short tempered lately.   I'm interested to hear what happened regarding medications when your kid went through puberty.  Did you just need an increase in dosage? or did you switch to new meds? or what?     My daughter also has a few learning disabilities in reading and memory, so school is a challenge (learning not behavior).    Thanks, looking forward to hearing your experiences...Boy sounds like my daughter! She is 13, also with coexisting LD's. She is a sweet girl, who DRIVES me crazy . We never really had success with stimulants. We switched to Strattera this fall and she is really having a GREAT year. Even keeled mood (for the most part, shes still a teen), getting help at school and putting a LOT of effort in, eating very well, sleeping great.I started meds when I was 12, so I never really noticed the difference right away. Then, a 8 months later maybe, we had to put the dose up (I would have been 13). But now, I'm noticing that my dose might be going down again (I'm 16). So, I think that it's pretty plausible that things will change, however it can't really be certain, because it, like meds, is different for each person.
