Please help , I need Advice | ADHD Information

Does she have transition issues? Might there be some new school/new
place stuff that she's rebelling against/angry about/struggling with?

Are there any groups the military offers for helping kids adjust to a new
place and meet new folks? Does she have any friends yet?

I just ask because my kid is really easily upset by breaks in routine, it can
take her months to settle in - and then she's still always on the lookout
for a new rule to push against. I think having a some good friends helps,
too.   (for you and the kids!)

I hope things are looking up soon! 1am is too late for me! I couldn't
handle it!Request reduced homework with an IEP and disability she qualifies. Is She taking meds? If so what kind? I would speak to her Psychiatrist about it, it sounds as if the meds aren't working. It is so hard when they don't want to do homework! But, as moms, we have
to learn to let them take control and pay the consequences. My adhd dd is
only 6, and gets maybe 10 minutes of homework a night. No biggee. My
3rd grade dd gets at least 60 minutes a night. She doesn't have adhd, and
still we have fights about it. I had to back off and let the chips fall where
they may. It is more important to have a good relationship with your kids
than having them do every bit of homework. If her grades drop, then we
take away anything with a cord!   

Does your dd have an IEP or 504? Maybe the teacher can shorten her hw
assignments or make other accomodations. Hang in there! (And no more

My daughter is on 54 mg of Conerta , I just made a appointment today for incearsing her medication.

We just moved here in Tn ( military ) so we just saw her Psychiatrist for the first time.

Chinamom , When it comes to the 504 plan . I am not at agreement with it . Due to the last 2 years she was a Straight "A" student . I feel she is so capiable of doing the work .This all started this year . I do have her in after school tutoring to help , But they are doing other activities not homework .

   I have had lots of meetings with the teacher's to see what we can do to help her out . and all the things we came up with have failed . Palmer39483.5600694444 we just moved to another state ( we are military ) and I have had nothing but problems with my youngest child ( I have 3 children) when dealing with her school work . I mean to the point , I am still up with her making sure she finish her school work (1 am) . She Is ADHD and has been since she was 3 . I am working with her teacher ( through emails) and we have tried doing the sign off sheet ( meaning if my daughter finished any work at school ) her teacher is to inital her name on the assignment sheet . So I know that she really did do the work . And I do the same at home. We have tried to reward her when she does do the work ( This past weekend we took her and the rest of our girls to Chuck E Chesse's and then to a Movie ) But then it is back to the same thing ( Not wanting to do the work ) I am really at the end of my rope of what to do to try to help her . Please any Advice will help . Thanks in Advice !
