The dd has been on all kinda of differnet meds. The doctor changed her yesteday to Addreall XR 10mg.
Has anyone else used this and how has it worked for you and yours?
The Implustivity wasn't stopping on the Concerta. Doc offered the Concerta at a high dosage, but what I have found out with this type of med is thet she gets used to it after about 4 week and it has no effect on her. (Sometimes no more than 2 weeks.) She told me Adderall is much stronger and people take longer to "get used to it".
Has it helped anyone out there? Anything I should be aware of? I know all reactions are different per person, but feedback would be greatly appreciated!
IMO WE USE VYVANSE WHICH IS ADDERALL IN A LONG ACTING FORM WITH LESS SIDE EFFECTS.......
spamula, I'm curious about your experience with less side effects. I assume you mean less with vyvanse than adderall xr. What have you noticed that's different?
Both my kids have had great results with adderall XR. The XR version is long acting and should last 10-12 hours give or take. My kids, esp my daughter who is hyper, have had to have the dosage increased over time. We did try vyvanse but did not like it. The adderall Xr actually lasted longer than the vyvanse and the rebound with vyvanse was 10x worse than with the adderall. So it really is just so individual. Give it some time and good luck!My doc won't perscribe Vyvanse because it's "too new". I am going to take some of the posts off here and show them to her and see what she says. I liked Concerta but she gets to used to the Ritalin product too fast.
I just don't want to go through take this pill at 7 am now another at 12 and possibly one at 3? Then one to sleep too? That can't be any better...
I'll keep you posted to what she says...we see her Friday.
IMO WE USE VYVANSE WHICH IS ADDERALL IN A LONG ACTING FORM WITH LESS SIDE EFFECTS. WORKING GOOD HERE. IT IS A STRONG MED BUT WORKS GREAT WHEN YOU FIND THE RIGHT DOSE, AND NO MED BREAKS WITH THIS ONE. GOOD LUCK.
