By us medicating our adhd'ers they will be LESS likely to be impulsive and try "things", including illegal drugs, drinking, making bad choices, etc.

Also you are doing something about this now and getting help for him that is half the battle.  How is your relationship with your son?  If you are close that will help.

The stats on adhd teens show more higher risk factors with things like car acciddents, getting into drugs, and even trouble with the law. My son is only 8 ,all ido is worry for his future. He's already been expelled 3 times this year.Help! I think i need to know some positive stories because all i'm hearing is the bad-----please make me laugh if all posibble.

Those stats are usually for UNmedicated teens, who tend to self midicate later on with illegal drugs etc.  All teens are thrill seekers, and immortal, and sometimes teens with ADHD do have accidents, but probably not anymore than non ADHD kids. "amb" my daughter's behaviors get better and better every year. She doesnt have the significant "H" nor did she get in a LOT of trouble younger, but my point is that with treatment, she is on medication and LOTS of behavior plans in place, she does better every year. She is still 13 and has the mouth to prove it , but I feel we are doing the best we can with and for her. That is all ANY parent can do. Stay on top of things, know your child and what they are doing, support ehm and get them the help they need.
