does anyone feel tierd all the time | ADHD Information

adownes- You sound alot like me and my ADHD lol! I too think through everything I do about 20 times and then I go to do it and then I change my plans and therefore take longer getting the project done!! Then I am exhausted and can't figure out why?????????????????? LOL

I take 36mg of Concerta in the morning and it actually wakes me up and gets me going otherwise I have and could just lay around all day when unmedicated. I do at times feel incredibly tired while on my meds and that is when (at least) I think is when I am about to rebound so I am extremely tired and kinda moody and want to be left alone for about 45 mins to an hour (this is going to sound strange but drinking a Coca Cola seems to make these crashes worse) and then at night when the medicine wears off I have to hit the bed right away because I'm so tired and if I don't get to go to sleep right away I can get grouchy!

Having said all this I love my med. I wish I would have been diagnosedin childhood in school maybe I would have done better and would have felt motivated to keep on going.

I don't feel very motivated when not medicated so I was often labeled as lazy now on my meds. I am able to go, go, go..... then crash!

I have always been fatigued.  I find that my meds (dexedrine) sometimes help my sleep.  Of course, I am one who has to set a timer to remind myself to go to sleep.  I agree that trying to maintain focus can contribute to fatigue.  I also wonder how much we over think everything, leading to mental exhaustion.  Most normals seem to "just do" a task without much thought, whereas I find myself running through all the steps involved and possible outcomes and reactions to those outcomes and by then I call the whole thing off.
I do fairly well as long as I remember to take my medication.  Without the Adderall, I am constantly tired-it seems that no amount of sleep is enough.  I usually wake up feeling worse than I did before I went to sleep!  I think that we work so hard trying to focus and get through the day when we are unmedicated, that it just exhausts us.
I'm on no meds, and I'm always exhausted... getting up in the morning is particularly excruciating.
Same here.I'm on no meds, and I'm always exhausted... getting up in the morning is particularly excruciating.I used to be on Adderall XR 30mg and I felt tired all the time. I just switched
to Concerta XR 54mg last week. I didn't sleep the first 2 days and they gave
me a prescription for Ambien to help me sleep. I am also just starting
Effexor XR for some mild depression while they try to regulate my drugs.

I am yawning all the time and I am very tired at bed time, but I never stay
asleep.

I know how you feel, you feel tired but the drug keeps you hyper. It sucksWhat meds are you on? I was on Adderall XR for a year and while it did improve my symptoms, I felt tired ALOT. I'd be out and having a good time, then I'd just want to go home and sleep. I have made a switch now to Vyvanse. I have only been on it for one day so I cant really tell you if it's any better, but so far today I feel great. I feel focused, but I have a personality and motivation. Usually a few hours after I take the Adderall, I am ready for sleep. So far I feel great. We'll see what happends but maybe you are on a dose too high for you on whatever you're on. Hope you can find a med that works better because being tired all the time is horrible. i feel like i want to sleep alot i will be fine then while out feel tierd and just want to go to sleep
