occupational therapy | ADHD Information

is it a must for an adhd? my 5 1/2 year old son was recently diagnosed with an adhd. based from his teachers report, most of the time they cannot control his hyperactivity. there were times that he's no longer listening to the class, instead he's busy running around. since the doctor referred him to an occupational therapist and for almost a month now, his teachers said there were no improvements in his behavior.

now i am thinking if i can just do it myself since i am a full time mom and i can feel that ot is not necessary for him since his problem is only his behavior because when i read the summary of lessons in his ot, it was more of practicing independence and control through giving activities. i decided to stop from work because my son needs me. i am planning of doing a lesson plan wherein we have activities per day. please help. thanks

My daughter has Sensory and I pay for private OT and it has done wonders.  It addresses a lot you may  have to get an evaluation.
