I don't think they had Ritalin when I was in school,
but I sure do well on it now.
IMO, VYVANSE IS A DRUG THAT YOUR BODY NEEDS TO ADJUST TO. MY SON STARTED 3 WEEKS AGO AND HAD SIMILAR SIDE EFFECTS. WE ARE ON WEEK 4 AND THEY ARE MOSTLY GONE. I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND STICKING IT OUT WITH THE VYVANSE FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND SEE IF IT IS BETTER.Any reason why you aren't trying Concerta again? If it worked for you before without problems it might be okay again. We are currently trying Strattera with my son and one thing I don't like about it is how long it takes to start working (usually 4 weeks AFTER reaching your target dose). That is a long time to wait and then it might not even work. I'm certainly no expert on meds (we have been lucky in that until recently my DS was on the same med for a number of years), but you may want to try the stimulants first, before going to something like Strat. Also,I don't know anything about Vyvanse but is it possible the symptoms you are having will go away after you have been on it for a few days? I know with the Strat. every time we up the dose my DS has an evening or two (he takes it at night) where he doesn't feel so great but then a couple of days later it doesn't bother him. Just a thougth.

yea I'm trying to get concerta but my doctor is trying to get my to try other ones first cause my classes run till 6pm and she said concerta wouldn't last that long to go with my later classes. I called my doctor about the vyvanse and she said that I should be taken off of it since i have side effects from the lowest dosage and I'm an adult. Thanks for the imput. And good luck to you too. When I was in high school i was on Concerta but i stopped taking it because over time i thought i wouldn't need it. But now I'm back in college and i'm trying to find the right one for me to help with my classes. My new doctor just put me on Vyvanse 30mg and i have been sick all day. I got dry mouth, dizziness, and i just don't feel so great. She now wants to try to put me on Strattera. But I've read around and I'm not so sure now. She wants to keep trying till i find the right one. But I really don't want to go through what I've went through today over again. I can't afford to screw up in my classes. So if i can please get any advise. send it my way.
