Straterra Dose increase What do you think | ADHD Information

At 79 lbs 60 mgs is his MAX dose, ( 35 kiloX1.8 mgs.) he cannot go higher than that, so yeah, it is a huge jump. I would stick with the 50 for a while, see if it works. It is his midline target dose, so it may be the one.

My daughter went from 36 to 54 just fine. We also did an increase as of last night from 54 to 72. I think he'd be fine going to the 60, but if you have the 25's why not go slow, it certainly can't hurt. Also why waste the 25's you've got, may as well use them. So if you have the 25's go to that, you could even do 25 in the a.m. and 25 in the p.m. We are going to 40 in the a.m. and 40 in the p.m. as our new target. I am only doing 72 to use up all the 18's we have, we did mail order 90 day supply, so I have enough 18's to give 2 twice a day. If you love him on that, you could ask for the 60 to be split, 30 in the a.m. and 30 in the p.m., just a thought, not trying to confuse you more.

Glad the time change has helped and shown some positives. Such a tricky mediciation!

Diane V39499.1263194444I spoke with our doctor and explained that a side affect for low dose was depression ect.  I asked for an increase of 10mg.  So he would get a 40mg at night 10 mg in the morning.  After 2 days of phone tag the nurse calls me and says he raised the dosage from 40mg to 60mg in one shot.  I have not picked the script up yet and decided to give him 2 25mg pills tonight and for the next couple days.  I had some left over and samples.

My thinking is to gradually raise it over the next couple days instead of jumping straight to 60mg.  Do you think this is a good idea?  Or should I just start him on 60mg tomorrow after I pick up his new prescription.  I appreciate all of your input.....Colleen

BTW he weighs about 79lbs and has been on the 40mg for over a month.  I started giving it to him at night and I have seen a big difference in his attitude and energy level.  He has not been exhausted for the past few days......
