i think you doctor is right, i think that every med is going to work differently for each person. my dd has had great success on vyvannse, (and she has tried them all!). i wish i had this for her years ago. she has grown 2 inches and 3 lbs(in 3 months!), and her attention in school has made a complete turn around. she also had bathroom issues (#2), but has been wonderfully regular since starting. she also has not taken melatonin since about a week after starting,(huge step for her).
however all of the medications she has tried in the past and been unsuccessful with have been lifesavers for others. personally what i think is amazing is that 20+ years ago, parents had few options, and long acting wastn't even an option. now it seems like there could really be (hopefully) something out there for everyone.
My son was taking Vyvanse, and it really spaced him out. He lost his personality and had NO appetite whatsoever and lost 4 pounds (41 down to 37). He was also very constipated and had frequent headaches and tummy issues. I don't like the stuff either and he has done great since switching to Daytrana. The doc said that Vyvanse will either work wonders for you with mild or no side effects, or do the exact opposite. I guess it all depends on the person as to whether it works well or not.
So you're not the only person to have problems with Vyvanse!
So, I was on Adderall XR for a year. It worked well but I felt tired at around lunch time and a little less motivated to get things done at the end of the day. Okay, so my DR. decided to put me on Vyvase. I took my first dose 6 days ago. It was okay. Then it all went downhill!!!!! Horrible headaches, nausea, heart palpitations, anxiety. Sorry, but I want my Adderall back. I am going back tomorrow and telling my doc that she can keep her vyvase. It's NOT for me! Anyone else have this issue?
