newbie wanting advice | ADHD Information

Hi my son was diagnosed with adhd at 5yrs of age. He was discharged from follow ups as we decided not to medicate. He is now 11 and his school have asked for a reassessment he has not received any help with his schooling etc. What sort of help is there available, what should i be asking the psychiatrist when i go back on tuesday. He will probably need ot be re evaluated by a psych, and also have an educational eval thru the school. He could be eligible for a 504 plan or an IEP. I am not sure of the laws in the UK, but there are lots of accomodations school cna do for him. preferential seating, extended time on homework, taking tests in a quiet setting, wrightslaw.com has a list of common classroom accomdations. As far as the psychiatrist goes, are you planning think about medication at this time? Does he need behavioral help or is at all about attention? Behavioral modification can help with or without medication (it's just usually easier for the child to learn using both). There's lots of help available.
