What can be taken w/Adderall Xr? | ADHD Information

My 7 year old started taking Adderrall Xr 3 weeks ago. It's helping with her
ADHD but it seems to make her moody. Like when you tell her no or ask her
do something she gets wayyyyy whiney and say's "NOOOOOOOOOOO..."
blah blah blah. Everything becomes this huge major ordeal...and all I'm
asking her to do is put her shoes on!

I am wondering if there is something else possibly surfacing due to the
meds? Possibly ODD? She's also having trouble falling asleep some nights.
Or is it possibly not enough meds?

Mornings and nights are wayyyy bad with the moodiness. Advise anyone?Or possibly too high a dose...  best to discuss with her doctor.  Acutually what you describe sounds fairly common especially starting up--emotional lability and insomnia are both listed as side effects for Adderall.  YES THOSE SIGNS ARE ALL FROM THE MEDS. FOR SLEEP I WOULD RECCOMMEND MELATONIN. IT IS OTC AND BOTH OUR DOC AND PDOC RECOMMEND IT. GOOD LUCKanytime dose is too high or too low you can see moodiness side effects, I've found. If she's been on it for 2-3 weeks with no improvement, I'd discuss with doctor.My son was that exact same way on 10mg of Adderall xr .. we upped the dosage to 20mg after two weeks, and he's soooo much better! Still a little touchy but not anyway as bad as he was on 10mg.  Still not focusing as much as I think he could be, so I expect to try a little higher dosage shortly.
