My dd is seen every 3 mos by the pediatrician. He prescribed the meds. Her weight, height and BP are checked. We have a discussion about how the meds are working. Sometimes med dosages are adjusted.
My son sees the ped every year for his yearly check up, of course when he is sick and his phychiatrist every 3 to 4 months..
yes at her 3 month visit, he checks weight and BP, this is one of the reasons we have to go in, and he can see mood......and speak to her directly about school, friends, sleep.....etc.
DD's Psych sees her every month, every 2 weeks if we adjust dosage or change meds. She also sees a counse;or weekly, for social issues.
A psych is best to manage meds, and offer therapy.
our psychiatrist (this is who manages dd's meds) sees her every three months. Cannot get more meds without him seeing her every three months. All his pediatric patients are every three months and adults every six.My son (will be 8 in may) has been diagnosed with ADHD back in 4/07, and has been on metadate cd 20 mil since then. What goes next? Isnt he supposed to get regular check up's or someting? His ped hasnt requested anything ever since the diagnosis. His psycologist hasnt requested anything either. All she did was do the official diagnosis after of series of tests..and she said to make sure to give a copy of the results to my sons ped. Isnt there some type of "maintnence treatment" or something? I am planning to call the ped today, but I dont know exactly what to ask for or what to say.
