Pants Wetting? | ADHD Information

My son only has the day time problem. He hardly ever has any bed wetting....i think its because i make him go to the bathroom right before bed. I wish I can offer some advice...but I cant. My son will be 8 in May...and I am going through it right now and i dont know what to do to help him. He says he doesnt feel it. I think he does...he's just so hyperfocused at the moment that he doesnt realize it. I tell him a bunch of times through out the day to go to the bathroom...but sometimes that doesnt work. I dont know what else to do!

My dd had many problems with daytime and nighttime wetness. She had gotten in the habit of waiting too long to go, and if you do that over an extended period of time you get to the point where you don't feel the urge to go until it's desperate. I knew where every bathroom was in every store. You can tell if they have this problem because one sec. they're fine the next they're desperately trying to hold it in from the bladder spasms. For my dd, she had to learn to go on a schedule, and take a med to reduce the bladder spasms initially. At school the teacher knew to make sure she went every opportunity. She also knew that if dd said "I need to go now" that meant now. We used a schedule at home too so she broke the habit of waiting too long. It was a long process, but ultimately successful. We also used an alarm at night once she was old enough to be motivated to do it, and it worked wonders. We only had the nighttime problem and it fixed itself.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
To answer Bubbles question yes he does wet at ngiht too.

I guess I’ll look into getting an alarm for nighttimes and when we're at home but stick to pull-ups when we're out. I'll bring the subject up with his doctor first and see what she thinks.
