vyvanse 30 mg??? | ADHD Information

Hi,

I read some where that Vyvanse will be coming out with 20, 40 and 60mg soon. I believe it said the second quarter of 2008. Just FYI.  Also, my son did horrible on Adderall XR but so far (about 4 weeks) Vyvanse has been wonderful. It could always change but I will take the few weeks of peace and a generally happier child. We started him at 30mg and after two weeks switched to 50mg.

30 mgs is the lowest dose of Vyvanse available.but it is a big jump from 5 mgs adderall. Why not raise the adderall? it is basically the same med. He's been on 5mg, 10mg and 15mg Adderall.  10 and 15 made him emontional always in tears.  5mg he seems to be flat lining maybe like he's immune to it.Well we use the Vyvanse 30 after Focalin and what a difference. my son is 9 and is doing so much better at school he also takes zoloft for anxiety. this combo is working pretty good we will see at the med check begining of April. we had some side effects that went away after 2-3 week or so. now it has leveled out.My son is switching from Adderall XR 5 mg to Vyvanse 30 mg.  Can someone give me some input on Vyvanse 30mg.So far he seems to be doing great!  I am keeping my fingers crossed.

We are very happy on vyvanse. We were part of a study and started on 20 mg, we knew immediately that was too low. The 30 mg worked for 3-4 months. We are at 50 mgs and it is great.

It is a much smoother transition and rebound is not bad. My son has a good appetite and eats well. We still have sleep problems but they have improved from the Adderall XR.

Remember dosing is based oh how your child metabolizes the meds, not their size.

We're going to be trying Vyvanse, too.  Our child psychiatrist said that he's seen really good results with it, so I am hopeful.  Anyway, the 20mg is supposed to be out by April, and I've read on the internet that you can get it already.  That's what we're starting with, so I'll let you know if we can get it right away.

My son started on 30mg and was on it for 1 month and then he was increased to 50mg. We are almost finished with this bottle and when we go back to the doctor for a med. check then he will go up to the 70mg per the psycologist request.I am thinking about leaving him on the 50mg for now because he is doing fine with it. The psyc. said he would like to see his scores to be a little lower(the test he gives him on the computer) which would require stronger meds. His grades are fantastic and his emotions are a little more stable. He is sleeping fine(once he goes to sleep)

I think we are doing pretty good right now. Also I would like to add that we ONLY give him his meds. on school days. Week-ends, holidays and vacations are medfree and he does fine. Other than the normal roudiness
