My 9yr old is 66 pounds and on 50mg of Vyvanse. The school hasn't complained and we get through homework, but around 5 p.m. he turns into a very scary kid. He bounces and tics and just can't calm down.
I had asked that the doc to increase his dose about a month after he was on it, but he said wait another month because 70 was really high for his weight.
I'm curious about what doses other kids are on.
He's great in the morning, better than concerta. I'm thinking we may just have to suffer through the 3 hours before bedtime.
it is available in 30-50 and 70 mgs, and is dosed by symptoms, not weight. My son will be 9 in June, weighs 46 pounds and is on 70 mg.
Thank you both. I'll talk to the doctor again. I'm always scared to increase his doses. It's like I am adding the dependency.
