My son has ADHD and Asperger's - the doctors say he can't take stimulants (like Concerta, Adderall, etc...) to help with his focus in school because they make his anxiety so much worse. Since strattera isn't a stimulant, do you think it may help? What are some of the side effects of strattera?
Well, it has to be ramped, the dose is VERY weight dependent, and it takes 6-8 weeks to see results. BUT, when rx'd properly it is a very good med for some. I should already know this answer, but what is designed for? More for anxity? Mood helper, ADHD? Just needing some info.ADHD.
My daughter takes Strattera though and I can tell you it works for all of the above.
It actually was to be an anti depressant, it is a Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Hi could somebody tell me how long you should stay on each ramp as my daughter took 18mg then 40mg and has been on 40mg for 20 weeks now. She weighs around 45kg so I think she should be taking around 65mg. I have seen absolutely no difference since she started taking it.we did 1 week each time we went up a dose. My daughter is 83 pounds, so almost 38kg and she is taking 60 mg.
40 is too low for 45kg, she should be between 54 and 80.
Yep, between 54 and 80. 40 is too low, and I am surprised you are not seeing side effects from it being too low., She should also have been slower,10- 18-20-25-30 etc.
