Information I received and want to share | ADHD Information

Thank you for making forum members aware of other effective treatment options for ADD.I'm very interested in alternative options. My son't lack of focus is really effecting his and other's safety. Today he almost slammed the van door on my arm. Then he had a rock in his hand (working at a farm)when his little brother jumped on him. He didn't drop the rock first before turning to push him off. He wasn't trying to be vicious, I can tell, he just didn't think of dropping the rock first.

There have been many other moments like these on a regular basis.

I'm signing him up for karate again, it worked when we tried it a couple of years ago. (had to stop for scheduling/moving reasons) But I want more information on what else we can try.

I am going to be checking for a Naturopathic or even Homeopathic Doctor in our area. I think if one does a google search there will be information out there concerning alternative treatments. But I am weary of those little ads that offer some "natural" product. I think that a Doctor in the field would be best to consult with.

I recently posted on this Message Board about my daughter's husband having severe ADHD and I was terribly concerned that her 4 month old baby girl may develop ADD. I consulted with Dr. Kenny Handelman, a psychiatrist in Canada who is considered and expert on ADD in children, teens and adults. He said that it was not really possible to diagnoze a child under the age of 3 years. He also suggested we contact a Naturopathic Docotor. I was extremely impressed that he is willing to concede treatment other than the usual strong drugs. I just want to share this information with all of you who may be interetsted in an alternative option.
