Leaving for home this morning | ADHD Information

What great pictures! Your daughter looks wonderful with her face painted and you got all the steps which was very clever! This reminds me of our last trip to Disney..... We had the children's faces painted, also. Jon was a pirate. Well, he got overstimulated and had a melt down. He was rubbing his face and all the paint smeared everywhere...it was mostly black. Then he started to have an asthma episode so we had to hurry to the first aid station. I asked them to call the paramedics and when they came they said Jon wasn't bad enough to give a treatment to. I had forgotten to pack his inhalers. I told them if they did not give Jon a treatment he would grow progressively worse and end up hospitalized but they would not listen to me. We rushed back to our car (it was our last day and we were all packed up). By the time we got home (four hours) we did detoured to the hospital and Jon was there for two days! What a trip.

I am so glad your trip was so good- everyone looks so happy!

So cute!  Everyone looks so happy- try to keep the magic in your hearts as you re-enter the 'real world'.  It can be a culture shock, you know.

Thanks, yeah it was a huge culture shock coming home. 86 degrees there and 49 when we pulled into our driveway at 10:22 pm last night. lol But its nice to be home.

We are back to reality and the kids have been pretty wonderful today. Trent is having some issues, I'm not sure what is up with it. It's seriously like he has forgotten how to swallow. When I give him his meds, he can't swallow a pill, so they told me to open the capsule and pour it into applesauce or pudding and just have him swallow it. Well all the sudden he can't swallow it. So he's just holding it in his mouth. I'm afraid he's gonna let it dissolve in his mouth before it should. I don't know what to do with him about this. So many things seem to be changing with him.

I am calling the neurologist tomorrow to find out if and when they are going to get him in. Hopefully they can do it quite quickly as my meeting is fast approaching, and I would really like to have that before this meeting.

I think right now at this rate, the best course of action looks like he's going to repeat kindergarten. I worked with him the entire week while we were gone to fl. Of course I didn't make it seem like work. We just played little word games etc on the drive etc. He had absolutely no interest what so ever. He didn't even wanna try.

Thanks, my daughter was so excited about getting her face painted, she thought that was teh coolest thing. Hahaha, she wouldn't let me wash it off. So we had to compromise and wash off the smeared under her eyes, and nose & keep everything on her forehead. LOL

Finally I got to wash it compeltely off today.

Those are really nice pictures.

I'm sad... We are waking the kids up now to head home. :( We had a wonderful time this week, and really don't want to go home :(. But its back to reality and our life. LOL

I have lots of pictures if anyone wants to see.

looks like a great time was had by all! Love the ones of your daughter face painted and meeting all the princesses!!

Disney is truly magical. We took Ryan 2 years ago and out of 4 days only one major meltdown. It was a because we had told him ONE souvenir a day..WEll we went to Downtown Disney and he went to the LEgo store. Boy he thought he died and went to heaven!! So he picked out his souvenir and then we went to MGM Studios . After Star Wars, you walk thru a gift shop(actually the ONE complaint I have about Disney.>WHY do you have to always walk thru the gift shop to LEAVE!????) And of course he wanted a Star Wars toy. I said NO and all hell broke loose! He cried and wailed and threw himself on the ground and just was inconsable for 2 hours! Boy did we get some looks but I sat on the bench and waited it out. Eventually he calmed down and we talked and the rest of the day was fine!.

I think all kids, ADHD or not get a little overwhelmed at Disney at some point!

jacks889739531.4632986111I'm leaving for my trip to disney tonight and looking at your awesome pics have made me even more exited! I cant wait. I am not sure if i am going to let my son go med free....i'm taking it just in case. I dont know how you fit all of that in 4 days...whew..you must have been exhausted!

wohooooo, how exciting. Have a blast. Oh, can you take my daughter with you :) She's begging to go back. Not in a month, not in 6 months not in a year TODAY lmao.

It was very exhausting. But we didn't notice it till night when we sat down. lol I can't wait to take my kids back again. They actually enjoyed themselves so much.

Have a blast and don't forget to look for the characters. I think its a great idea to take his meds. Play it by ear.
