Right now my son is on VyVanse 50mg and I ONLY give it to him on school days. He does not have it on week-ends, holidays or school breaks. He does fine that way. His psyc. is the one who suggested me NOT giving it to him on off days. We started that 3 weeks ago and he does just fine. All children will react differently to meds as well as med breaks so just give it a try and see how it goes. Good Luck

Just today my son switched from taking 15mg Addreall XR (which he has been on for almost 3 years) to Vyvanse 30mg. I've read that you can't give med breaks on this med like we did on the adderall. So, my question is...he's 11 and likes to sleep in on the weekends until like 10 or so...so wheat do I do about meds on those days? Is that too late to administer it?? If anyone has suggestions let me know!

Some kids do not do well with med breaks, but if yours does I don't see why you cannot do breaks.
