My 8 1/2 yr old ds was dx as ADHD at 6. He has been on ritalin since however he started showing extreme anxiety and some depression. We changed the ritalin to strattera and he has been on that for a month and no changes so far. He is having an extremely hard time. I know that this will take some more time once we are at the right doseage. It is just getting there that is difficult. However the doctor says that the anxiety symptoms would have been relieved by now with the straterra so she prescribled lexapro for the anxiety. Does anyone currently have children taking these 2 meds or straterra and another anti depresent? Any successes or failures?
I am just at a loss....I hate adding another med it just does not sit well with me depite the fact that I understand the need for it. I am sure most of you feel this way any ideas for "just getting over it"?

Strattera takes 6-8 weeks to see results, and only if it is ramped/dosed properly according to weight. I would hold off on the other med until the strat has time to work.
What is his weight? What dose is he on?
