I have a lot of friends on aderall. They like it. But, I'm not so sure about taking a stimulant...as cold meds make me too antsy.
But, I don't want the sexual side effects that come from Straterra.
I didn't know if one med works better than others for focus. Thanks for the reply.
I'm a 24 yr old young professional. After graduating college last year, I have lost two positions this year alone. I mainly blame my lack of focus, concentration, bad memory, and sometimes my inability to complete tasks.
When I was younger, I was diagnosed with ADD and I definitely still have it. I was able to get through college without meds, but now I think I need something that is really going to help my focus.
I have just landed a new job. This is one I don't want to have to leave. It's a perfect fit. But, the atmosphere is very distracting (from what I could tell, in the interview).
I know certain meds have different strengths. What do you feel is the best ADD med for focus and clarity? that is my main concern.
please help!!!???
None of them really work for a specific thing. It's actually really hard to even find two people that react the same way to the meds. Unfortunately there is a large trial and error period that most have to go through to find the right one. Of course some are lucky and have success with their first med.
Wish I could offer more help but I wouldn't be surprised if everyone that responds will mention a different medication that helped them. For me it was Adderall.
I think everyone is on something different. For me it is Strattera and Prozac together. I couldn't focus until 2-3 int he afternoon sometimes! I am 43.I have Bipolar disorder, and ADHD comorbidly. I currently take 30mg of adderall with my other medicines. I think if you truly have ADHD, and you want to get better there is a medicine out there for you. I have learned so much since I began treatment. It takes a lot more than just the medicine, you really have to work at wanting to get better. I just found out last week that I was bipolar also. I only found that out because of a lot of reflecting on situations. I think you will do just as well as you want to. Good Luck!

I am 25 and have been usingAdderall for teh past year.I would definetley reccomend giving it a try.
i started out with two 5mg dosses a day and after a few months was taking a 20mg dose in the morning and 10mg in the afternoon. I was worried that i was going to have to keep increasing the dose all of the time but i have been taking that amount for 7 months and it still seems to work fine.
The first day that i took Aderall i imediately felt the difference. I also noticed the way that other people around me we treating me. I was always having people telling me to , "slow down" or to "stop interupting", and this all stoped after taking Addreall.
Sometimes on weekend i will not take meds and although i dont notice the difference in my social life i have bene told that others can tell the difference.
I would reccomend anyone diagnosed with ADHD giving it a try. Adderall is my miracle drug. It can be described as a pair of perscription glasses or contacts for somoene who has vision prolems. It just makes everything so much clearer for me.
I do though have some friends with ADHD who did not like addreall and take straterra with positive results. I would say just try it out. its the only way to find what fits you best.
