Cutting daytrana patch in half | ADHD Information

We were told during the med trials to absolutely NOT cut them in half. They don't recommend it since the meds are not in the entire patch. That's what I don't understand. According to the website and our doctor, the dot matrix pattern means that every square inch is identical. But we have had inconsistent results with the cutting. I am just trying to figure it out while we wair for the correct 10g patches to come in. Also, why do they suggest 9 hour wear time? What if you want to take it off early? Is this an issue as well?Our doctor ok'ed cutting a 20mg patch in half to equal 10mg prescription. We are getting great results in the morning, and a big crash by 12:30! Something doesn't jive...I know the company does not ok this practice. Any ideas??? I really appreciate the help.
