| Job Switch Helped | |||
| |
I had been working in accounting, which was was making my ADD worse. Last year I took a leap and found a new job. Suddenly the problem seems to be fixed. I guess customer service seems to work better for those with ADD, because all I have to concentrate on is talking to people all day, wish some occasional paperwork when phones are quiet. I work in a claims office taking tire claims. Anyone else have more success with their ADD/ADHD by taking a job switch? just swiched jobs from reception to Correspondence Secratary. I'm 2 weeks in and already i'm getting worried about my distractibility. That said, my office is really quiet, since I was looking, I always thought that loud and vibrant surroundings suited better. I'm currently in a quiet general office with everyones eyes down doing their work. Not so much distraction to make me frustrated! my office lets me use my ipod as well, so I can put on some classical music and type away, that really helps as I'm not thinking about the music and I can't hear anything around me, so I can't be distracted. Lovely! My self esteem in the workplace has also improved since I'm not just transfering calls and opening electric doors for a living. I'm not even close to a panic attack! |
