Guafacine and acting like a baby? | ADHD Information

My five year old son has been on 1/4 of 1mg? guafacine tablet (am and night) for a little over a month now.  It seems to be helping his outburts but it seemed that he started acting more like a baby now.  He wants to snuggle more, talk babyish, bring his blanket to the sitter's.  The sitter suggested leaving the blanket at home yesterday and she said that it was a rough day.  I had him to the point at preschool where he wasn't bringing the blanket, but then we had to remove him from preschool due to his behavior.  We started the guafacine while he's been at the sitter's and haven't started back to preschool yet.  I'm not sure if the guafacine might be causing his babyish behavior or by being at the sitter's.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed this behavior with their children?  I'm really worried with kindergarten coming up.  He's going to have a terrible time being teased.  If I tell him to stop talking like a baby, he does.  We are going to a new psychaistrist next week (we've been waiting 3 months to see him).  So hopefully he can add something like Zoloft to help with his outburts that he still has and shed some light on this new babyish behavior.

What's funny is, that I wanted him to stop acting so violent and angry, but now don't want him to act like a baby?  Kind of pathetic isn't it.  It's so hard when you are playing with their emotions with drugs..  You never know what's going to happen.  We've tried stimulants and they were a nightmare.  So we're left to deal with the other alternatives.  Thanks.

a 1/4 of 10 mg Guanfacine is alot, probably not the right dose. I would make sure, dd was rx'd .25mgs, which is 1/4 of 1 mg.

What is his diagnosis?

OOps, it is 1mg tablets.  He has ADHD with a history of hitting, kicking, etc. when angry.  The typical "Dr. Jekyl, Mr. Hyde".
