diagnosis | ADHD Information
my 6 year old daugher has only now been diagosed with adhd this has been a long process she was born 13 weeks premiture and had a masive brain bleed this is the result of it i new for many years that she wasn't quite right being my 3rd child you know she would scream and shout hit my other children for no reason she would bite them she would never sit for a loing period of time to watch any thing or play with any thing for long but she never had trouble sleeping in the nights as she was so tried form the buisy day she had then she started school and would always get into trouble she would either hit or ignore the teachers so i went to the health visitor who just said she was buisy and this carried on for many years until i moved and she moved schools then it really got bad i was being called in every day she would do something wrong so i went to the head mistress to ask for referals with a long battle she has finally had all the assesments and now been diagnossed but this is just the beging for me no treatment has starde as of yet but i have bben giving her amego 3 for about 3 months now i don,t now weather this is working but she has started scraming her hands in temper and making quite a mess of them she doesn,t let me help her clean her teeth with the result of a large apsas on her back tooth i feel so drained and so tired of the battle evey day with not nowing if she is going to have an good or bad day i just hope this will get better soon and signing up to this i can now talk to other people in the same boat as me ps sorry about spelling &nbs p; &nbs p; &nbs p; &nbs p; j

THere is a lot of information available so you can be an active partner in your daughter's treatment.
I would suggest you look at Ogram's marble thread (top stickied thread of this forum) for an example of a positive reinforcement behavior plan. You can start with one behavior and add more as you and her get the hang of it and as she gets older. Behavior modification is an important part of treatment and long term success.
