The poor thing is getting Stouffer's mac and cheese every time he eats. I got some really fattening yogurt and granola today. Ge used to eat my McDonald's yogurt so I hope I can get this into him.
[QUOTE=wits end]Thanks for chiming in. He's pretty smart, as most ADHD kids are, and he won't drink anything I make b/c he knows I am adding to it. He also doesn't like chocolate and the Vyvanse seems to have diminished his liking to strawberries.

That is how my son is!! When I do the instant breakfast..I buy the vanilla and I make it and add Nestles quick to it! I add as much as it takes to make it taste like quick! He doesnt care for the instant breakfast so i have to disquise it! LOL...He would never drink pedisure, ensure, etc..HATED them..or slimfast..(dont blame him!)...
Does he like mac/cheese?Very high protein and make it with whole milk and butter to add more fat. Most kids like that or mashed potatoes??Load it up with butter/sourcream(full fat! ) and milk!! Heck that can be a meal if need be!
My son will devour 3 bowls of cereal sometimes before school!
Good luck...!
vyvanse takes about an hour to kick in as it has to metabolize in the intestines so if you give it to him in the AM, you have about an hour before the appetite supression kicks in. My son is on vyvanse 30 mg and has NO appettite in the afternoon. NO matter what i pack for lunch, it rarely gets eaten. Sometimes he wont even drink which worries me even more. He eats a great breakfast and by the time i pick him up at 6, he is hungry and eats pretty much till he goes to bed. Is there any time you son IS hungry? If so, make sure the meals he eats are calorie dense and try to pack in as many calories as you can. Whole milk, full fat cheese, cream, bread, pasta, butter, peanut butter, etc.
If all else fails and he wont even eat his favorites, call his MD. My son use to take remeron when he was on adderall as a sleep aid and appetite enhancer. It worked very well . Also alot of the side effects of Vyvanse disappeared after about 1 month on the meds for my son.
Good luck!

He also doesn't like chocolate and the Vyvanse seems to have diminished his liking to strawberries. So there goes all the vitamin protein packed drinks! I've spent about 0 trying new things. This morning he ate 2 helpings of oatmeal and an adult size bowl of cheerios. (he was 20 min late for school) I wish he ate like this all the time. Unfortunately he melted down when he got home from school so he hasn't had a snack and Daddy decided to take him on an errand with a protein bar (which have been discontinued, I can't win). There goes dinner! I like the idea of remeron. He has a psych appt on the 22nd. I'm going to look into that!
Thank you everyone for all your support. I don't have much so you all mean alot to me.
Kenny has lost 2lbs in 3 weeks of being Vyvanse. My "kid who would try anything" now won't eat even his favorite foods. I think they taste different to him. Does anyone have a food suggestions?
