I agree with Granny Fran.Having a kid with as ,adhd, and a hos of other co morbids, I vote for A

As you  might all know from previous posts, my son (9) has been offically diagnosied with ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome and Dysgraphia. Dysgraphia is realated to very poor handwritting skills and poor fine motor coordination.

I have been doing a lot of research on ADHD and Asperger's. As I have been doing this research I began questioning the ASpergers Dx. I know each case is diffrent. I am under the impression that my son will always be different and have difficulties socially. I am just not sure if the problems he has is the ADHD or ASperger's or is he just imature.

The one thing about Asperger's that I am questioning the most is Imgative Play and playing pretend. He never played house, never played with action figures, he never pretended something was something else. Like when my daughter plays the skys the limit. I may think that the teacup is a cup, but nope its a bath for her imagnary fairy friend.

Recently though I have become more aware of his pretend play. It is still very structured. If its a stuffed dog then its a stuffed dog. The dog may have feelings, according to Gavin it can jump of the bed into my arms because it likes me.  It can talk. His teddy bear Babe Ruth can walk. This play is typical in younger kids, isnt it? Hes 9 this shouldnt just be starting. Its not that he hasn't done this before but he's doing it more often. He is also very creative, he loves to build things out of boxes and paper. Houses, kites airplanes etc. Is this imagntive play?

This morning he found his "knick knacks" from his b-day cake. They were baseball players. He set them up in the right spots of course and pretended to make the batter run the bases. That was the first time I can rember him ever playing with any type of action figure.

What I am getting at is, is his unique imagination and the fact that I am noticing more of it because:

A) I am more aware of the signs of Asperges and I want to disprove the dx

B) He doesn't have it and he just socially imature

C) Hes just a typical adhd kid

Thanks.
