Hi lexismom!

We're in about the same place you are with our son, 6 1/2, about to finish 1st grade.  We've just requested the school evaluation, but with only about a month left, we still haven't heard anything.  our son's grades are fine now, too, but we worry about the future.  And the meds thing....so aggravating!

you've probably already checked info on the web, but I did find a site that gave me some advice on this area:

but we also bought the "dummy's" guide to adhd, you know those yellow books you see in the bookstore!    it's actually pretty helpful, and humorous at times too, which is always appreciated!

I hope this can help you a bit!  It gave us a good starting place!

Which book is the best?

My daughter is in 1st grade...Severe ADHD, Severe Impulstivity, and now diagonosed with a mood disorder. She's on three meds..but we're still getting them regulated. (Aren't we all!)

I've been to the school once and asked for 504 Accomadations. Was turned down becuuase she has "good grades." They have already threatened to put her in "Alternative" scool because of her behavior issues. Biut yet they aren't doing anything to help her.

My question is, what are her rights? What is she entittled to?

So any advice on which book will be helpful!
