strattera and mood | ADHD Information

has anyone's child who is on strattera notice mood changes or anger? it seems like josh who's always had a temper has really gotten worse. i don't know if that means he's going going to be able to continue on the strattera. he takes strattera and adderall xr.we use Strattera,but do not have mood issues, but it can be a side effect. Is he on the correct dose? Some people experience this if the dose is too low. Others have to stop it due to mood issues. he weighs 47lbs and is on 25 mg. so i don't know if i should take him off or what, because he takes adderall xr 15 also.He could go up some. 25 would be his minimum dose, he could go up to 38. I'd talk with the doc. Is this new since Strattera?he's always has behavior issues but what i'm seeing now is really extreme. when the dr started him on strattera he said his dose would be 25 so i don't know.At 52 lbs his dose is a bit low, he should probably be at 30-40 mgs( the target for his weight). Until the dose is right for his weight, you will probably see these side effects...they are common with a dose that is too low. My son's on strattera and is really getting angry all the time lately too.  We see the doc May 20th but really I don't know if i can wait that long.  He weighs about 52 pounds and is taking 25 mg as well.  I don't think the doctor has a clue, and I'm still waiting to hear from a med clinic.  I hate this.

Lexi is 7 and was taking 15 Adderrall XR in am...doctor started her on 10-25mg of Stratterr at night becuase of rebound agression and I saw bad things...mood swings like someone was turning a light switch on and off in her. Crazy agressive then next minute sweet and kind. So we added Seroquel...which is a type of Risperal. I give it to her at night and stopped the Stratterra this week. So far pretty good...we're slowing ramping her up to 50 mg Seroquel. We just stopped the Statterra on Monday so I think it will take some time to get out of her system. I will keep you posted!

Was his dose rampe4d? Starting too high, and staying too low can and will cause mood issues, and mood swings.

Strat can be stopped cold turkey, and doesn't really take long at all to get out of the system........a day or so.
