way to go trent!

How old is Trent?  My ds is 6 1/2 and he still has accidents too!  Just wanted to see if I finally found someone who can comiserate about that!!! :)

Thanks!
that is an awesome job trent. Congrats mom it is so great to see all that hard work has paid off.

Thank you so much everyone. Yes for sure it is. He finally got something great that he deserves.

He turned 6 in Feb blondesoprano. He suffers from encopresis, and its been really bad the last week, so no accident yesterday was GREAT. :)

I picked Trent up today and opened his backpack while waiting to pick up his brother. There was a certificate in the front of his folder. It says:

SUPER JOB TRENT 4/21/2008

recognition of letters, sounds, counting to 100 & # recognition.

he also got an award sticker that says 100% on it. I can't forget about that. how awesome.

they have a surprise for him at sylvan for it.

Omg I was so excited I almost cried. I got out of my van, ran around to the other side, opened the back door and gave him the biggest, tightest hug possible. I have never been more proud of him as I am for all the hard work and effort he has put into these last few months.

I know, sounds crazy, but for those that don't know this was a huge struggle for him since nobody noticed he needed glasses in a "bad" way. So he couldn't recognize letters and nobody ever new it. Anyway, its been a huge struggle and now his hard work has paid off.

WTG Trent!! I am so happy for both of you...and I think everyone on this forum understands the absolute joy you are feeling!! Our children struggle to make these strides and how could we not be proud!!

Give him a HIGH FIVE from us all!! YEAH TRENT!!!!!!!!

WAY TO GO!!!! this is SO great to hear, way to go!!That is awesome!  I think you needed that today!

Yes we both did. That's for sure. I am so proud and prepping a special page in his scrapbook for him for his certificate. It'll be a day I never ever forget.

We got to Sylvan and they had spoke with his teacher this morning, and found out how well he was doing and he was chosen for student of the month there. There will be a poster hanging up in there about him with questions they asked him and his answers. And he was in the monthly newsletter and he got a sylvan sports bottle and a huge box of nerds. lol He was so excited when they told him. They all gave him high fives telling him great job....

I will definitely let him know when he comes home. I'm going to have him sit here with me and i'll help him read it. Thank you everyone.

One more great piece of news NO ACCIDENTS TODAY..... NONE!!!!!!

What a wonderful accomplishment! Way to go Trent (and Mom)!Om gosh, brtsqd3, It is SO great to finally find someone else who has a son with the same issues!

Sometimes I feel like no one else in the world has kids who, at 6, 7 years old still don't (can't?) control their little bottoms yet.

We always have "buckets" in the bathroom where things have to soak before we do the super-strong bleach/borax/detergent laundry treatment.

It's certainly a fabulous day when the encopresis (and sometimes eneuresis) doesn't rear its ugly head!!!  :)  So glad you had a great accident-free day!

I have posted a new topic here asking for help writing our 504...do you think that some concession regarding the encopresis should be in the plan?  Maybe just as simple as reminding him to go use the facility so many times per day?  just trying to piece this together!

Thanks again for the advice!

That is awesomeTongue
