Strattera and sexual disfunctionI am a 51 yo male who has been on Strattera for almost a year. I also take the generic version of Well-butrin and Zocor for high cholesterol. Over the past 6-9 months my sexual drive has diminished significantly, and I am no longer able to get an erection. I suspect that this may be a side effect of the Strattera, and I am wondering if other men have experienced similar problems with this drug. Thanks Hello - I am new to this board and so glad I found it!! Anyways, I am also in my mid 30s and am experiencing the sexual dysfunction as well. It seems that Adderall and Strattera is what is causing it. Does anybody know if there has been a suggestion to keep on the ADD meds but take viagra/cialis to compensate for the sexual dysfunction? Just wondering
<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"
Thanks
Funny, but I'm about your age, and have noticed the dsyfunction that Adderall was causing (I think), has reversed with Strattera. So now, I'm "driven" & more capable, but find the Strattera often makes me feel exhausted, which the Adderall helps counteract. So, I can't get a win/win thing quite together, with just one or the other....I had some serious sexual side effects with Straterra. NO, i mean NO desire and it took forever to finish. I would also ejaculate with the orgasm coming about 30 seconds later. Leakage during sex was also a HUGE problem as was maintaining an erection. I thought it was interesting they did not list specific sexual side effects on the warning label, but I have heard from many others on ADD boards that the dislinkage between ejaculation and orgasm IS a common complaint. Unfortunately, the Straterra did an awesome job on controlling my ADD, but the trade off was too much. I am now on Adderall XR 20 mg daily and it is helping, but not as much as the straterra. However, I have no side effects with Adderral. My doc increased the dosage to 25 mg today. does this apply to women as well?I doubt anyone would put you on viagra/cialis when you are on a stimulant. It would speed up your heart way too much. |
