Since you and your docs are into testing the stimulants, and trying to find the lowest dose that works, I suggest you try Adderall XR (I assume you are currently trying the regular adderall, not the extended release kind that comes in a capsule filled with tiny little beads.
My two reasons for this suggestion: The XR is much smoother in coming on and leaving your system, which sounds like one of the issues you're having, and whatever the XR dose you are prescibed, you can always lower it by simply opening the capsule and taking less than the full contents inside.
If you get to try XR, I expect your doctor will point out that 20 mg of XR is roughly equivalent to taking one 10 mg regular Adderall, then another 10 mg about 4 hours later--XR is designed so that you're supposed to have only 10 mg in your system at any one time, theoretically at least...
Hello, I recently went through a full neuropsych testing and was diagnosed with moderate/severe ADHD. Although I have always suspected it, and even used Ritalin during a period in junior high school, I was never given a full diagnosis.
